A Berry Creative Week

Our book of the week is Peter Rabbit and Nutkins the Squirrel leaves a trail of footprints after stepping in some berries so we decided to go berry picking and mashed the berries up to make juice. Danny had just recently done this at school and he really enjoyed it. Then we dipped the feet of our animal toys into the berry juice and made footprints with them.

As Danny is getting older, he is becoming more and more creative. Some days he will just ask for the paints out of the blue and do his own thing with them. I like to stick his creations onto the wall and Serena really appreciates them. She stares at them and points and says things about them.

Another idea I used from Danny's school was spray paints. I added paint to some water in a spray bottle and let Danny loose on the paper. He was like the cowboy of paints armed with a spray bottle in each hand! I was expecting him to swing the bottles around and blow over the spouts when he was done! His finished creation would have made a good Halloween decoration as it looked like splattered blood!

We can always rely on Bunnings to put on a good activity and this week was making a Reindeer Christmas tree decoration. As with most things, Danny loves to break away from the norm and decided to give his Reindeer 4 eyes and turn it into an Alien Reindeer! I am looking forward to our Alien Reindeer to hang from the tree once we put it up. I wonder what other creatures will be hanging from it.
